Overview:
Drift Away Cottage is a beautifully remodeled and newly decorated beach cottage. This home was a 5 star vacation rental when we purchased it in January 2021. We have made a LOT of improvements to this home, so our goal is for guests to love our home even more.

Location:
Located in a charming neighborhood, the cottage is conveniently central, just 1.7 miles from a public beach with parking and restrooms. Nearby is Southern Soul BBQ, a popular spot featured on Guy Fieri's "Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives."

Cottage Features and Amenities:
The cottage offers a separate den and living room, a large laundry room, and a screened porch. There is a dining room that seats six and a large kitchen with new appliances and a breakfast bar. The outdoor space includes a private fenced yard with a covered pergola, firepit, and Adirondack chairs. The cottage is a single-story building for easy access. It is equipped with a HALO-LED™ air purification system. This system treats every cubic inch of air conditioned space, reducing airborne and surface microbials, bacteria, viruses, mold, odors, VOCs, allergens, dust, and particulate matter.

The home includes Wireless internet. Please note the outdoor cameras at the entrances. This is a non-smoking or vaping home. Additionally, emotional support animals are also not permitted

Local Activities:
Guests can enjoy various activities like beach visits, kayaking, biking, and golfing, as well as shopping and dining at local restaurants and exploring the beautiful neighborhood. Please don't hesitate to contact us for recommendations for any or all of these.

Every one of our properties is furnished with a “starter kit” of supplies so that you don't have to run to the store at the start of your vacation.

Cancellation Policy:
60+ days from arrival - 100% refund
31-60 days from arrival - 50% refund
0-30 days from arrival – 0% refund

Inside of 60 days, reservations cannot be rescheduled for any reason

Cancellations will be charged a $65 cancellation fee
(without exception, even for same-day cancellations)

To protect your vacation investment and avoid deposits lost to cancellation, Emmons Realty strongly recommends the purchase of Travel Insurance.

Deposit Policy:
$500 will be charged to your card at the time of reservation, a deposit which will be applied directly to your rental cost. The remainder will be charged automatically, 30 days prior to your arrival. If you’ve contacted us through VRBO or Airbnb, you will be responsible for their additional fees. Our online calendar is updated automatically, and all quotes are accurate and include all fees.

    This home was such a great find in a quaint neighborhood on SSI for our first trip to SSI. The home was very comfortable, clean, and well appointed. The decor was fresh and just the right amount of "beachy/artsy". Our visit was too short to use the firepit and grill space, but it was a fabulous addition to the home with a private fenced backyard. The little screened porch was a favorite spot for coffee and reading/studying. The owners truly thought of everything for a comfortable stay.

    The distance to the beach was a short drive. We visited both East Beach and Gould's Inlet. Both were very crowded over Memorial Day weekend....not sure if this is the norm for all summer? It was a short walk through the neighborhood to Redfern Village for doughnuts, coffee, and yogurt. We enjoyed our stay and short venture around the island and hope to return to SSI again!

    Great Home and another wonderful visit to SSI! The owners have done such a lovely job decorating and The small attentions to detail made the stay so enjoyable. The side yard was perfect to relax after biking and walking on the beach. The neighborhood is friendly, quiet and convenient to so many shops and restaurants. We will be back!

    The house was the perfect setting for our girls getaway. The location of the house was so close to everything whether we were doing some shopping, going to the beach, or getting dinner. The outdoor area was perfect for charcuterie and chatting by the fire. We had the best 5 days!
